Castlemaine Botanical Gardens playspace

Urban Initiatives have been responsible for the design of a custom playspace in the Botanical Gardens at Castlemaine, which are currently being renewed. The playspace is themed around the gold mining heritage of the area and the treed nature of the site, incorporating many tree trunks and other local materials.

The design incorporates a unique treehouse structure and formal play maze where planting will play a major part in the success of the design. Bouncing bronze leaves and acorn sculptures constructed by Nicholas Dunand will feature in the design.

The project is currently under construction.
