Katherine Masiulanis - Senior Landscape Architect

Katherine joined Urban Initiatives in 2009. She has worked in landscape consultancy since 2000, and been involved with all stages of design, consultation, documentation, contract administration and project management.

Katherine specializes in playground design and is well grounded in current thinking on the value of outdoor play for children, particularly as environments become more highly urbanised and restrictive for children. She recognises the need for play environments to be varied, appropriate to their setting both in landscape and social terms, and designed to suit the maintenance and supervision capabilities of the client.

Outside work, Katherine enjoys gardening and bushwalking, and is also working on her second novel.
