The Jack Roper Reserve is a much-loved and very popular urban parkland and playspace in Broadmeadows. Through extensive community engagement, Urban Initiatives was able to create an engaging playspace for all age groups and abilities using inspiration from a previous castle play structure.
The new Jack Roper Reserve playspace includes a large custom-designed tower and fort structure, swing and spin opportunities, and extensive imaginative play for younger age groups. The playspace also features accessible, custom-designed interactive sound and themed sculptures and a large, open ball-sport area.
Urban Initiatives contributed to all aspects of the project, from community consultation through to concept design, construction documentation, construction advice and additional car park treatments.
