This highly successful playground is set amongst the African huts and adjacent to the open grass plains of the Werribee Open Range Zoo. Broader zoo programming opportunities and venue hire were a key consideration in the design of this space, requiring flexibility and robust specification to cater for zoo events, school groups and large volumes of public visitors.
The project was undertaken as a collaboration between Arterial Design and Urban Initiatives and included a tribal-inspired play experience, with custom raised platforms and play elements, tribal shield theming and a large giraffe climbing mound, all designed to integrate with the themes of this area of the zoo.
